Sand blasted cedar signs

Brass Etchings

During the 1970's and 80's I knew of four different companies that produced brass etchings. I got to work for two of these companies which I learned the craft of brass etching. The second of which I got to work with was the best in the business. I mostly did production work while the owner did higher quality custom work. These etchings here are some that I did in my own studio in 1983-84

Richards on Richards

These Sandblasted glass panels were edge lite and installed one on top of the other in light boxes creating reflective allusions in the background.

Mandos parking lot

This picture was taken soon after I finished this Art Deco arrow that points to the backdoor of the restaurant. I also did some painting and staining in the interior of the restaurant. Every painter has a accident once in awhile and I happened to kick over a whole gallon of stain on the brand new carpet. Can you guess who had to Clean it up.

Royal Towers

These countertops and table tops were painted for Harbour Towers in Richmond B.C.
They were painted with latex paint (deep jungle green) and a gold leaf boarder.
On the round tables we painted serial and exotic flowers with oil paint. They were finally finished with apoxy resin. The ceiling of the entire club was covered with cotton canvas stretchers.

Gators Discotheque

On the grand wall of Gators nightclub hung a large photo mural of the inside of a sewage disposal plant. I was asked to fix it up by airbrushing alligators swimming in it.
